NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

Notice is hereby given that the following Ordinance shall be acted upon by the Council of the Borough of West Mayfield at their regular meeting on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the West Mayfield Borough Council Chambers located at 4609 West 8 Avenue, West Mayfield, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

SUMMARY OF THE ORDINANCE

An Ordinance establishing procedures and regulations pursuant to the fire insurance escrow act.

1. Designating treasurer as the officer carrying out the duties of this ordinance.

2. Defining “fire loss” or “claim”.

3. Requiring compliance with the ordinance by all insurance companies paying claims for fire damage within the Borough wherein the amounts recoverable under all policies exceeds $7,500.00.

4. Payment procedure or disbursement of fire insurance proceeds for the loss exceeding 60% of the aggregate limits of liability on all fire policies.

5. Providing for the submission of an estimate of cost to cover payment of said damages.

6. Providing the procedure by Borough after receipt of any funds under the ordinance and for the transfer of the same.

7. Providing the method of construing certain portions of the ordinance.

8. Providing for additional procedures and regulations to be adopted for implementation of this ordinance.

9. Penalty for violation.

10. The provision for furnishing certificates as to tax balances owing.

11. Payment procedure for taxes.

12. Granting the Borough the ability to recover any deficiency of taxes.

13. Providing for additional procedures and regulations as applicable.

14. Penalty.
